Langmeil Winery embodies the ideals inspired by the refinement of knowledge shared from generations of Barossan’s – real people making real wine. Family owned and operated, the Lindner family is dedicated to producing wines from the varieties that have proven their qualitative attributes for generations, it is the passing down of knowledge that inspires them to maintain a focus on proven pedigrees like, Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling.

The Langmeil property was first settled in 1841 by a pioneering settler Christian Auricht and formed one of the district’s first villages. Auricht migrated from Prussia after being persecuted for his religious beliefs, and fled to the Barossa for religious freedom. His legacy survives through what’s believed to be the oldest known surviving Shiraz vineyard in the world, planted in 1843 by Auricht and today continues to produce fruit for their flagship single vineyard wine The Freedom 1843 Shiraz.

Today Langmeil’s award winning premium range is internationally recognized and has contributed towards the winery being regarded as one of the top premium wine producers in Australia. Their young team is dedicated to the success of the winery, driven only by quality in every aspect.
